Veterans Parade Route Changing for This Weekend

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- New England’s biggest veterans parade is set for this weekend, and the parade route is changing this year. The Connecticut Veterans Parade will take place this Sunday in Hartford, with close to 3,000 participants, and our very own Storm Team 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons is the announcer at the parade.

The parade will start and finish in the same location, but the route will be shorter and will focus around Bushnell Park in Downtown Hartford.

“We have worked with our planning committee of veterans and other veterans groups,” said Kristin Beth Ferris, Parade Coordinator, “to make the parade even more enjoyable for both the marchers and the thousands of people of all ages who will come to cheer them on and say ‘thank you.'”
