Cruisin’ Connecticut – Local Shop Bringing “Luck of the Irish” to CT

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Today we’re Cruisin’ Connecticut to Lucky Ewe Irish Goods in Hamden, because St. Patrick’s Day is only 133 days away. So why not.

The shop is celebrating its one-year anniversary. Shop Owner, Katie O’Neill Regan explains how the store started:

I had gone to Quinnipiac’s Great Hunger Museum and I was so moved by that experience because it tells a story of Ireland that I really did not appreciate. I’m an RN and I was contemplating what I wanted to do with rest of my life and an idea came to me, how about open up a store to compliment the museum.

The store features popular Irish goods like Irish tea, jewelry and hand-knit sweaters:

The Irish sweaters come from the wives who would knit the sweaters for their husbands who were fisherman. Each one had a different pattern of in case anything happened to their husbands they would be able to identify the body.

Need a little luck of the Irish in your life? Head on over to Lucky Ewe Irish Goods in Hamden!
