NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – News 8’s own Ann Nyberg shares a sneak peek into her new book “Remembering Katharine Hepburn.” Whether it was her movies, her politics, or her great sense of style, Katharine Hepburn truly was an iconic actress in the 20th century.
Most people don’t know how deeply Katharine Hepburn was tied to Connecticut. She was born in Hartford in 1907 and was raised in in Connecticut. She found herself coming full circle back to Connecticut after her days in film to teach and act in local theatre. The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook was also founded by News 8’s own Ann Nyberg.
Ann began compiling stories and anecdotes from people who had known Katharine and put them together in her new book. From family members, to famous colleagues, Ann’s unique perspective is a must read. “I was struck by her kindness,” said Ann, “she was very kind to people that she loved and I was shocked by that because we know her as tough.”
