Road closes after car crashes into pole in Somers

SOMERS, Conn. (WTNH) — Part of 9th District Road in Somers is closed following a crash Thursday morning.

Eversource and state police are cleaning up a crash that happened on 9th District Road, between Pinny Road and Hutton Road.

Police say a car struck a utility pole around 7:00am on Thursday.

The driver of the car was the only person inside at the time of the crash. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crews on the scene are working to get the affected area of 9th District Road back open. As of 11:30 Thursday morning, troopers say to expect repairs to last about six to eight hours until the road re-opens. There is no word on any power outages at this time.
