Crash closes portion of Whalley Avenue in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Rescue crews have responded to a vehicle vs utility pole accident in the Elm City.

New Haven police tell News 8 that Whalley Avenue is completely closed from Amity Road to Pond Lilly Avenue. Traffic exiting from the north and southbound side of the Wilbur Cross Parkway will only be allowed to turn west into Woodbridge.

The driver was not injured in the crash.

Crews are currently on scene clearing the crash. Traffic is likely to be impacted for some time while crews work to replace the damage pole.
