Freebie Friday: Cooking class, crafts and Veteran’s Day freebies

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s Freebie Friday and that means we are looking to save you money. We are helping you stretch your dollar with a look at what we can get for nothing this November.

There are two great opportunities to save in the next week Election Day and Veterans Day, and there are a couple to get you started this weekend.

Thanksgiving isn’t far away and Williams Sonoma is helping you prep by hosting a free cooking class for junior chefs Saturday at 10 a.m. where they’ll learn how to make yummy dishes like turkey and some sides. Most suitable for ages 8-13.

Also in the spirit of Veterans Day next week, your child can build a free helicopter at Home Depot from 9 to noon on Saturday.

If you’re a Bank of America cardholder, you can get into a number of museums free this weekend. Participants locally include Fairfield Museum and History Center, Bruce Museum, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and Mattatuck Museum.

There are also two days guaranteed to offer freebies and deals next week. Election Day and Veterans Day some places are already rolling out deals like this one, vets can get a free piece of cake at cracker barrel that day or a free lunch at 99 restaurants.
