HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have located the car that was discovered missing after Meriden police found the body of an elderly man in his apartment Wednesday night.

Meriden police officers confirmed that the car belonging to the 75-year-old victim, who has not yet been identified, was found in Hartford Friday morning.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took the body away around 7:30 a.m. Thursday to determine cause of death, and confirm the identity. Police say it was decomposed enough that they think they man died at least a week ago. The initial reaction by police was to call in state investigators and call this a homicide investigation.
