MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — One woman was arrested for driving under the influence and abandoning her car Tuesday morning.
Police said around 4:19 a.m. they were dispatched to the area of Pleasant Street and Main Street. Police located a car that was unoccupied with a light pole laying on the ground in front of it.
The car was facing Westbound indicating it crossed over the double yellow lines, hit the curb and then hit the light pole according to police.
Police found out that the car belonged to Natalie Perez, 20, of West Haven and found her in a parking lot located at 40 Broad Street.
Perez told officers she was involved in the accident and she left the scene because she was nervous. Police said she failed all sobriety tests and was transported to Headquarters where she took a breathalyzer test. She had blood/alcohol content levels of 0.1560 and 0.1545.
Perez was issued misdemeanor summons and complain ticket for violating C.G.S., operating by a person under 21 with a blood/alcohol content of 0.02, evading responsibility and failure to maintain lanes.
Perez was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is due in court on November 15.
