Teenager shot and killed in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 17-year-old was killed in an afternoon shooting in Waterbury Saturday.

The shooting happened in the area of 30 Porter Street just before 4:30 p.m. The victim was shot three times including once in the head, according to Waterbury Deputy Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo.

The male victim was taken to Waterbury Hospital where he died at 6:40 p.m. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
