Gunshot detection technology alerted Hartford Police to Branford Street shooting

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Gunshot detection technology alerted Hartford Police to the shooting on Branford Street in which a 10-year-old girl was shot in the face.

According to the Hartford Police Department, the technology recorded 11 gunshots along Branford Street around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Dispatchers told the police officers who were heading to the scene that a gunshot victim was being transported to an area hospital from 247 Branford Street.

The victim, a 10-year-old girl, was shot in the face. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers found five 9mm shell casings in front of the home and noticed damage to the home from gunfire.

A witness told Hartford Police that the gunshots came from a black vehicle, which drove away East on Branford Street.
