HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Some students at Quinnipiac University voted for the first time Tuesday.

Students took a bus to the library in Hamden to vote, others voted by absentee ballot. During the year, students had debate watching parties and some even got the chance to go to the conventions. Students say it’s exciting to take part in this historical election.

“Me and my roommates we had debate watches so we made sure to watch all the debates and the process was pretty exciting,” said Shelby Petrie.

Quinnipiac University students will gather tonight on campus for an election watch party.
