NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A Norwalk driver is being treated for minor back pain after he accidentally drove his car through the glass doors of a classroom building at Norwalk Community College Tuesday night.

Just after 11:20 p.m., 56-year-old Jean Brutus arrived at the East Campus building to pick up his sister-in-law. According to Norwalk police, Brutus parked his car outside of the entrance to the building.

Instead of putting his foot on the brake, he accidentally stepped on the accelerator, causing the car to launch forward over a curb, and onto the sidewalk in front of the building. The car continued moving forward through the glass door entrance before coming to a stop.

Brutus was taken to Norwalk Hospital with minor back pain. No other injuries were reported.

The car Brutus was driving sustained heavy damage to all four sides. It was removed the building and towed away.

Brutus was issued a ticket for unsafe movement of a stopped or parked motor vehicle, according to Norwalk officers.
