MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Milford police say a man attempted to make off on foot, after being stopped on Interstate 95 with unprescribed Xanax and marijuana.

On Friday, Milford police stopped a car traveling onto I-95 by way of the exit 35 southbound on-ramp, for what they say was an equipment malfunction. 36-year-old Bridgeport resident, Milton Castro, was driving, and found to be inpossession of Xanax, without a prescription, and less than a half ounce of marijuana.

While police were investigating, they say Castro tried to run off, but he was taken into custody. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and less than a half ounce of marijuana, as well as interfering with an arrest.

Castro posted bond, and is scheduled to appear on November 29.
