Portland school evacuated after student complain of dizziness

PORTLAND, Conn. (WTNH) — The Portland Secondary School was evacuated this morning after five students complained of sickness and dizziness. After the five separate students had complained about these symptoms, school officials made the decision to evacuate the school in order to test the air quality in the building.

According to the Portland Board of Education, the school was evacuated at approximately 10:10 a.m. as emergency personnel responded to the school. After a thorough investigation of the school conducted by emergency crews, it was determined that the building was safe. Students have returned to class and parents have been alerted about the situation earlier today by email.
