Approximately 1,000 Frontier employees are being laid off

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — Approximately 1,000 Frontier employees across 29 states are being laid off according to an announcement made last week.

John Puskar, VP of Public relations said employees who are affected will be eligible to receive severance benefits. Frontier will also be supplementing the first two months of COBRA medical benefits allowing them to pay the active employee rate during those months.

Puskar released the following statement in regards to the changes.

“This announcement is a meaningful and necessary next step toward realizing the full potential of our increased scale following the Verizon transaction.  We are focusing our field staff on operational excellence and centralizing other support functions.  This new structure will allow our teams in the field to focus on what is truly most important and what our customers expect-the delivery of an exceptional product and outstanding service.”
