‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect named in deadly shooting of Waterbury teen

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in the Brass City say they have named a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenager last weekend.

Police responded to the reported shooting at 30 Porter Street at 4:20 Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Jahliek Dieudonne suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dieudonne was treated at the scene by emergency workers and then transported to Waterbury Hospital where he died two hours later.

Police say the subsequent investigation has led them to identify 21-year-old Erick Malone as their suspect in the Dieudonne shooting. A warrant has been issued for Malone’s arrest.

Malone is wanted on charges of murder, reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal discharge of a firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm.
