People without power after car hits pole in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — Utility crews are working to replace a pole that was severely damaged after a car hit it Thursday night.

At 8 p.m. Thursday, Naugatuck police responded to a single car crash on Hill Street, between May and High Streets. Police say the car hit a utility pole, causing power outages to several homes in the area.

Crews are working to replace the pole, but it is expected to take several hours. Police say the road will remain closed while work is being done. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

No one was injured in the crash and the accident remains under investigation.
