Police arrest New London bank robbery suspect

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — New London police have arrested a man they say robbed a bank in the city Wednesday.

On Wednesday, police say a man walked into the Chelsea Groton Savings Bank on Montauk Avenue and handed the teller a note demanding money.

Thursday evening, police say they arrested 48-year-old Anthony Rowe of Groton. He is charged with second-degree robbery and is being held on a $100,000 cash surety bond.

Police say further investigation by New London Police Detectives will continue.
