Two arrested in Hartford on weapons charges

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Hartford Police conducting surveillance in the Branford Street area following several recent shootings spotted a person suspected of one of the shootings which then led to the arrest of two people on weapons related charges.

31 year old Johnathan Williams of Hartford is charged with possession of a high capacity magazine and failure to use traffic signal.  27 year old Johnathan Weaver of Bloomfield is charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of high capacity magazine and possession of a controlled substance.

Police also seized a Ruger 9mm, 12 rounds in a magazine, a stolen Smith & Wesson .40 Caliber pistol, 9 rounds and a second loaded magazine containing 14 rounds.
