Veterans teaching children in Avon

Avon, Conn. (WTNH)- A group of veterans in Avon will be giving some life lessons to school children across Avon today.

Members of VFW Post 3272 will be talking to children in five local schools about their experiences in the military and the importance of service to our nation.

The students will also be paying tributes to America’s heroes by presenting them with renditions of songs, poems and offers of thanks and gratitude. Among the schools taking part in the program is Avon High School.
