MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Boy and Girl Scouts from Milford earned their badges this weekend camping out for a good cause.

They camped for 48 hours straight as folks dropped off food to help 350 families in need. All of the donations head to different food pantries and banks in town.

“It’s not hard to get the scouts excited about the food drive. This is one of their favorite projects. We’re outside camping. We’re working hard. We’re doing good for the community. These are all things the scouts are motivated to do,” said Tom Mercaldo, Scout Chair.

More than 200 scouts and 100 adults helped make this happen.
