NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – The Big Connect is CT’s premier business expo taking place on November 17.
The event is free and open to the public. It features exhibits, educational seminars, including the second-annual Millennial Move Makers awards, which honors young professionals making it happen.
The keynote will be on conscious capitalism. Conscious capitalism is a business practice that exists to elevate humanity. It recognizes the potential for business to make a positive impact on the world.
Local examples include The Walker Group, here in Connecticut, which splits any profits distributed by the company equally between employees, the community, and shareholders; and the Regional Water Authority, whose president is deeply involved in Conscious Capitalism.
The saying is “Businesses that do good, do well.” According to the Harvard Business Review, companies practicing conscious capitalism consistently out perform their peers over the long term.
The Big Connect business expo on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Oakdale Theatre from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
