I-91 back open in North Haven after boat falls off trailer

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A section of Interstate 91 was closed in North Haven late Wednesday morning after a boat fell off of a trailer and on to the highway.

According to the the Department of Transportation, the left lanes of both sides of I-91 were closed between exits 10 and 9 after the accident was reported around 10:07 a.m.

Troopers tell News 8 that a SUV was pulling a boat when it fell off the trailer and on to the median next exit 10 on the northbound side. Police say the boat was not in the roadway, and that the North Haven fire department responded to the scene.

No one was injured in the accident. The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported that the area was cleared by 12:25 p.m.
