OCEANPORT, N.J. (WTNH) — Sources tell WABC-TV in New York that a body found on a New Jersey road could be connected to the case of missing Stamford man Joseph Comunale.

The body was discovered Wednesday on Monmouth Boulevard in the borough of Oceanport.

Original Story: Stamford man missing after going into luxury apartment in Manhattan

The 26-year-old was last seen Sunday morning on the Upper East Side of New York City. He apparently traveled into the city with friends Saturday night to attend a party at the Grand Sutton, which is located along East 59th Street.

Stamford Police tell WABC that Comunale willingly stayed behind Sunday morning after his friends left the party.

On Monday, police went to the building and took the resident from the apartment into custody on unrelated charges. According to the NYPD, detectives will speak with that person about Comunale.

Police have recovered evidence from the apartment. Some of which includes blood and items in a garbage bag near the building.

According to WABC, they are also reviewing surveillance cameras after a building employee told detectives the tenant was asking about the recording system.
