HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An 11-year-old Hartford boy who had been declared missing after a “disagreement with his mother,” was found almost 12 hours later hiding in a basement down the street.

Around 9 p.m. on Thursday night, Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley asked for help in locating Dillan Tobias, an 11-year-old who last seen around 9 a.m. that morning. Dillan was last seen running through the rear yard of his home on Babcock Street, after “a disagreement with his mother.”

Police said that Dillan is not a danger to himself or others, nor on any prescribed medications, but anyone with any information was urged to contact the department. To help in the search, police said Dillan was wearing red shorts, a gray hoodie with skulls on it, and black and white Nike sandals.

Within an hour, Foley followed up, declaring the “great news.” Dillan had turned up uninjured, “hiding all day in a basement down the street,” and returned home.
