Report It! Recap: November 18, 2016

(WTNH) — A lot of great pictures this week of the moon. In fact, it was downright super and there was a reason for it. This is the closest it’s been to earth since 1948. From Guilford to Shelton. West Haven to Windham. Bridgeport to New London.

Your cameras capturing everything up close. So much detail. Hope you got to enjoy it because there won’t be another super moon until November of 2034.

Some of the trees still bursting with color. Not wanting to get rid of the leaves just yet.

The Marine Corp celebrating its 241st birthday. The flag, flying above the state capitol. Of course we also paid tribute to the brave men and women in uniform on Veterans Day. So many ceremonies held across the state. Remembering the past and the present.

Even the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge — lit up in red, white and blue.

Congratulations to Lauren Danner from North Branford High School. She was just named the 2017 Connecticut Teacher of the Year.

News 8 viewer Natalie Maynard is pretty happy. She was the only student to make high honors with distinction at East Rock Magnet School in New Haven.

And happy anniversary to Marjorie and Alton in Northford. They’ve been married for 80 years!
