WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – Westport Police have made an arrest after a homeowner reported cash being stolen from her purse in her home over and over again.

Starting in March, a woman who lives on Clinton Avenue noticed that cash was missing from her purse that was left in an office inside the home. A lot of people have access to the house. After waking up on several occasions to cash missing, the couple set up a surveillance camera.

In June, the camera caught a woman taking cash out of the purse in the middle of the night, but she had her face covered. It happened again on September 28th, and this time the homeowners got a clear look at the woman’s face on the video.

They say they recognized the woman stealing cash as Elizabeth Rose, 50, a family friend. The homeowners say Rose had visited their home on several occasions, but did not have permission to be in the house in the middle of the night.

Rose turned herself in to Westport Police, and is charged with burglary and larceny. She is out on $10,000 bond and is due in court on November 30th.
