Who will come out on top at the 2016 American Music Awards?

(WTNH) — We are just two days away from one of the biggest nights in music. Some of the industry’s top stars will take the stage at the American Music Awards this Sunday night.

Drake leads the pack with 13 nominations this year, which set a new record for most nominations in a single year. The record was previously held by the late Michael Jackson, who received 11 nominations in 1984 from the ‘Thriller’ album.

ABC Radio Entertainment Correspondent Lynda Lopez talked with News 8 anchor Keith Kountz on what viewers should expect to see during the AMAs. Click on the video above for more.

The American Music Awards airs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with hosts Jay Pharoah and Gigi Hadid. It all kicks off Sunday at 8:00 p.m. on News 8 and ABC.
