Man killed in Bristol after being hit by car near busy intersection

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — A 49-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car Saturday evening in Bristol.

It happened in the area of Pine and Emmett Streets shortly before 5 p.m. Police say the 49-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was crossing Pine Street from the Valero Gas Station on his bike when he was hit by a 2004 Honda Accord.

The victim was taken to Bristol Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The 75-year-old driver of the car was not injured.

The Bristol Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate.
