2 seriously hurt after tractor trailer hits car in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH)– Two people were seriously injured after their car was struck by a tractor trailer truck in Greenwich Saturday night.

Police say at around 5:30 p.m., officers were notified of a serious crash at the intersection of Arch Street and the I-95 southbound off ramp at exit 3. A tractor trailer exiting the highway struck a car and entrapped the occupants.

The fire department had to extricate both the passenger and driver from the car. The victims, both Stamford residents, were then taken to a local trauma center with serious life-threatening injuries. Their identities have not been released at this time.

The driver of the truck was not injured. The incident remains under investigation.
