Ask the Lawyer: When Thanksgiving goes wrong

(WTNH)–On this edition of “Ask the Lawyer,” we spoke with New Haven-based attorney Tara Knight about the holidays, and things that can go wrong.

First, we talked about drinking. If you host a party and someone drinks a little bit too much and then drives, can you be held partly responsible if that person gets a DUI or is involved in an accident?

Also, with Thanksgiving on Thursday, if a guest comes over and helps you with cooking, and causes a fire or some type of property damage, who’s held responsible?

Watch the video above for that and much more, and check out our “Ask the Lawyer” segments each week on News 8 at 5 pm.
