ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH)- Orange Police officers arrested a woman after they say she got mad a Halloween store wasn’t giving out free candy, and hit the employee. 32-year-old Marsha Rancy of New Haven was charged with 3rd degree assault and risk of injury to a minor for the incident that happened back on October 31.
Police say Rancy was at the SpookyTown Halloween store on Racebrook Road with a child and bought a Halloween costume. Police say Rancy asked the worker if the store was giving out free candy for Halloween, and when the employee said there was no free candy, Rancy got upset. Police say that’s when Rancy demanded a refund for the costume she just bought, but the store employee stated the store didn’t give refunds. Police say that’s when Rancy became so angry she hit the employee. Police say another customer stepped in to calm things down, and Rancy left the store.
Police found Rancy a short time later and arrested her.
