New Haven unveils post-construction traffic plan for Long Wharf Drive

Long Wharf traffic plan sheet

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Now that construction is officially complete on the I-95/I-91 interchange and the ‘Q’ Bridge, the city of New Haven is pushing forward with new plans for Long Wharf Drive.

The city is working with the State Department of Transportation on the project. The plan is for a new traffic pattern along Long Wharf Drive between Sargent Drive and East Street that would include a two-way bicycle lane, on-street parking, and new pedestrian crossings.

The changes will support other new projects on Long Wharf that include the new Boathouse at Canal Dock and renovations to the InfoCenter, which is scheduled to re-open in 2017.

Drivers are encouraged to travel slowly through the construction work zones and pay close attention to the new changes as they are put in place.
