Oakville man charged for sexual assault of a minor

WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — One Oakville man was arrested for sexually assaulting a child under the age of ten.

On November 21, 26-year-old Paul MacLellan of 162 Williamson Circle, was arrested of sexual assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor.

Police said the investigation started after the child disclosed the sexual assault. MacLellan confessed to the sexual assault according to police.

Police said MacLellan knew the child before the assault happened.

No further details are being released.

MacLellan was held at Police Headquarters on a $200,000 bond and was arraigned at the Waterbury Superior Court on 11/22/16.
