MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police have arrested a Manchester man after an investigation led to the discovery of pornographic images of children on his computer.

On Tuesday, the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit took 46-year-old Darin Redding, of Manchester, into custody. Redding was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performance as well as possession of child pornography.

Troopers say Redding was located in the state of Indiana. He was detained as a fugitive from justice, and returned to Connecticut.

The investigation into Redding’s online activity began in December of 2015, after Troopers discovered child pornography files were being shared from an internet account assigned to Redding’s home. In March of 2016, State Police obtained a search warrant for Redding’s home, and confiscated computers and computer related equipment. Upon examining the seized equipment, Troopers located the files of suspected child pornography.

Redding’s bond is set at $250,000. He is due in Manchester Superior Court Wednesday.
