New Britain woman nabbed for having stolen gun

New Britain, Conn. (WTNH)- Hartford police were able to prevent a potentially violent confrontation when they arrested a woman in a car with a handgun on Hazel Street yesterday morning.

According to police, the incident involving the woman had escalated from an earlier argument involving at least three people. During that confrontation one of the people involved pulled out a baseball bat. At that point, the woman flashed a silver handgun and threatened to use it. It was later determined that the gun had been stolen from a location in East Haddam two years ago. All three people involved in the dispute are now facing charges.

30 year old Omayra Santana of Hartford is charged with threatening in the second degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, reckless endangerment, having a weapon in a motor vehicle and being in possession of a stolen firearm. 26 year old Angel Luduc of Hartford is charged with breach of peace in the second degree and having weapons in a motor vehicle and 32 year old Frank Dejesus of Hartford. He’s charged with second degree breach of peace and threatening in the second degree. Police also say they recovered a Colt Commander firearm, magazine and rounds at the scene.
