NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Some young people are stepping up to help their neighbors this holiday season.

Some Wilbur Cross High School students in New Haven are partnering up with local business to collect food for Thanksgiving dinner. On Wednesday morning, the kids had a pep rally for the fall sports teams before distributing the food.

‘We had our pep rally, you guys were there. You saw how many students love our school, love each other, over a thousand in the gym, no issues. Everybody dancing and supporting our kids, our diversity. It’s a major thing, you don’t see that every day,” said Edith Johnson, Wilbur Cross Principal.

The students also had some fun with their own version of the mannequin challenge.
