New London scooter accident victim identified

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH)  –  The man seriously injured when the scooter he was driving in New London early Tuesday morning has been identified.

Police say 36 year old Zachary Chesebro of no certain address remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Chesebro was struck on Route 32 at approximately 12:18 a.m. by a vehicle being driven by 19 year old Sophia Thielman of Rye Brook, New York and Connecticut College.  She has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.  According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website her blood alcohol content was .02 but she is under 21.
