Man found unconscious, assaulted in hallway of New London apartment

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH)– A man was seriously injured after being assaulted in a New London apartment building Thursday.

Police say just after 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the William’s Park Apartments, at 127 Hempstead Street, to the report of an assault that happened in an upper floor hallway.

That’s where officers found an unconscious man on the floor, suffering from serious facial and head injuries. The victim was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Police say that this is an isolated incident and that the involved parties may have known each other.

The incident remains under investigation. Police ask anyone who may have information to contact them at at (860) 447-5269.
