New Haven restaurant to hold Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Christopher Martins, a restaurant in New Haven, will be holding a free dinner for the homeless and working poor families this Thanksgiving day.

Volunteers will be serving up to 500 three course meals. Christopher Martins will also provide transportation to the restaurant for those who need it.

“It’s the best day of the year for us. It absolutely is. It’s so much fun. Unfortunately, we see a lot of the same people every year so they don’t get out of the cycle, but I think it’s a bright spot for them every year to come here,” said Chris Vigilante, Christopher Martins owner.

The restaurant will also provide care packages for its guests to take home. Those include clothes, food and toiletries.
