Suspect sought in robbery of Route 15 rest area gas station

ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are searching for the man who robbed a gas station at a rest stop along Route 15 in Orange, Thursday morning.

Police say troopers responded to the Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) northbound rest area for a reported robbery at the Alltown gas station/ convenience store.

Upon arrival, troopers learned that a while male had entered the store around 3:15 a.m. and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area in a vehicle.  Police say a weapon was implied but not shown. There were also no injuries reported.

Police describe the suspect as a white male with light brown or blonde hair and a goatee. He was wearing an orange baseball hat and a grey raincoat/jacket.
