NEW HAVEN, CONN. (WTNH)– Black Friday brought out a lot of serious shoppers. Shoppers turned out early for flash sales and door busters.
“I actually got here at 4:30 and waiting at the Victoria’s Secret store right outside,” said Patricia Molina.
The Connecticut Post Mall opened its doors at 4:00 a.m. Stores opened at 5:00 a.m. Customers waited in lines out the door. Some shoppers who wanted to make sure they’d get door busters didn’t get much sleep.
“I usually tend not to sleep so it came in handy today,” said Molina.
“I slept for about three hours and that’s it,” said Ashley Blackwell.
“The anticipation was killing me all night to get here,” said Lydia Krohelski.
Customers saved big on Black Friday.
“We bought candles that were originally $16 went down to five,” said Krohelski.
“I needed to be there for all the sales. I wanted to make some of my Christmas shopping end today so I don’t have to worry about it in a couple of months,” said Blackwell.
Bargain hunters hit the shops in search of any deals.
“Anything I can find for a good price,” said Harpreet Behal.
Others came with game plan.
“I’m getting best friends gifts. I got my mom, my grandma and everyone,” said Emily Grillo.
Shopping has cardio and fitness benefits.
“They’re probably like 15 pounds. I’m getting a really good arm workout right now,” said Grillo.
Some people said it’s better to get the shopping out of way.
“Then you don’t have to worry about all of the big lines when it come mid-December and people are like I gotta go. Boom, boom, boom,” said Blackwell.
Die-hard shoppers are not stopping at Black Friday.
“I’m going 100 percent going to keep shopping this weekend,” said Krohelski.
