State police release Thanksgiving enforcement stats


MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police released stats from Thanksgiving traffic enforcement.

State police have increased patrols this Thanksgiving weekend and are focusing on drunken driving and aggressive drivers.

Troopers released stats that cover midnight Wednesday to 8 a.m. Friday:

Speeding violations: 416
Seatbelt violations: 53
Other hazardous moving violations: 1038
(includes unsafe lane change, following too closely, cell phone usage, texting, failure to signal, etc.)
DUI arrests: 31
Accidents investigated: 199
w/injury: 15
fatality: 0

Increased patrols will continue through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
