NEW HAVEN Conn. (WTNH) — As the holiday season starts that means we will be spending a lot of more time away from our homes and shopping.
Registered dietitian Pat Baird stopped by our station to talk about ways we can be prepared as we head into those shops.
Baird says from November through January shoppers will be buying, exchanging and returning holiday items. They’ll also be eating along the way — but the “quick bites” at food courts often wreck havoc with health and weight.
Those treks to the mall mean food and beverages that are loaded with calories, fat, sodium and sugar. Baird provides tips on how to eat, and drink, healthier when hunting down the best bargains.
