HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Hartford police are investigating after a woman reported that she was assaulted due to her sexual orientation early Sunday.

When police met with the victim, she reported that she was assaulted due to her sexual orientation. The victim was then taken to Saint Francis Hospital with non visible injuries after she reported pain in her arm and leg.

Police say a canvas of the area did not produce any witnesses or suspects, and surveillance videos did not capture the assault.

The incident remains under investigation.
