Driver dies after car crashes into tree in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police say a 33-year-old Hartford woman is dead after she lost control of her car and crashed into a tree.

West Hartford police say it happened around 11:45 p.m. Friday just west of the Metropolitan District’s Reservoir 6.

Responding officers and bystanders pulled the driver, identified as Breanna Segundo, out of the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. No one else was in the car.

Segundo was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center where she later died of her injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
