Ethan Allen Launches New Disney Line of Furniture and Decor

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Two iconic American brands have come together to bring magic into your home. Ethan Allen’s new disney line is sophisticated, whimsical and fun, and sure to bring a smile to your face.

In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 88th birthday, Ethan Allen recently launched a new line of Disney-themed furniture, decor and accessories

“It’s just a great way to bring fun and passion to your interiors,” said Ethan Allen Design Consultant Deena Doherty.

“People are just pulled into this area,” explained William McGinn, also a design consultant at Ethan Allen. “The smiles start, the laughter. The adults become like kids and the kids become more like kids.”

The Disney line features the brand’s classic colors and patterns, and some familiar faces.

“Well we really focused on Mickey and Minnie themselves — the classic Disney characters,” Doherty said. “They’re hidden all throughout the textiles the bedding the linens, the fabrics, upholstery.”

“There’s a lot of very sophisticated subtle ways and some not so subtle ways in how Mickey, Minnie and other Disney motifs are incorporated into the product,” McGinn explained.

At Ethan Allen’s Imagination Station, designers and clients can personalize their furniture by selecting from fabrics and finishes, like “Mickey’s Red Shorts.”

From sectionals, to lighting, to cribs and beds, Ethan Allen’s Disney line has something for everyone.

“We tried to take scaled items for children but made sure that adults could also enjoy them, so sectionals were properly proportioned for smaller spaces,” Doherty explained. “Kids could enjoy it but the depth still would handle adults. Same thing on the desks and little stools — all the pieces really had to transition between adult and child because really the adults are enjoying this almost more than the children.”

“It’s something that connects people,” McGinn added. “It really is a small world after all.”
