HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Firefighters responded to a report of an apartment fire in Hamden on Monday night.
Firefighters got the call to go to the Seramonte Apartments on Mix Avenue around 10:00 p.m. on Monday.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the first and second floors of the building.
“It looks much worse than it is. Damage to the roof of course. But nothing that cannot be replaced. It will not have to be demolished,” said Chief David Berardesca, Hamden Fire Department.
Firefighters believe the fire started in a kitchen.
No one was injured.
The people who lived in the four units that were damaged by the fire will have to find another place to stay.
