New Haven officer home after being struck by motorcyclist Monday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven police detective has been released from the hospital after we was struck by a motorcyclist Monday night.

Police say 47-year-old Detective Juan Ingles, a 14-year veteran of the department, was directing traffic on Kimberly Avenue near the Interstate 95 underpass when he was hit by a motorcyclist. Ingles was pinned under the motorcycle until he was freed by other people at the scene.

New Haven police confirmed to the News 8 that Ingles was released from hospital care Tuesday morning, and is at home recuperating.
