NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Anna Zhang is a teen entrepreneur and founder of Pulsespikes.com. Anna talks about maintaining the magazine, photography, and balancing schoolwork as a high school student.

Anna’s newest project is IGNITE, which is a two part social good project in partnership with Covenant House, who is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless youth and ending child trafficking. The first part of the project is an online platform .The platform’s intention is to create a space made by young people for young people to discuss and raise awareness to issues affecting adolescents. Through the platform, Anna hopes to show the power of each young person to instigate change and the power of the community to shape the world. The platform is also ongoing and allows for community submissions, so it gives all young people a chance to get involved and spread awareness and youth empowerment.

The second part of the project is a book, in the style of a journal. The pieces in the book are written by talents and share their stories and experiences on issues they believe have a large impact on adolescents today, including self-love, bullying, LGBTQ, and breaking stereotypes. Participating talents include: Alli Simpson (singer/songwriter, beauty and fashion influencer), Cameron Boyce (Disney’s Descendants, Disney’s Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything), Gavin MacIntosh (actor, The Fosters), and Brec Bassinger (Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs).

The book’s release date is set for December of 2016. All profits from the book will be donated to Covenant House.
